we bought a new one like a month ago 20 gallon aquarium
i poured the whole bottles of chemicals that came with the marina aquarium
it got small white particles/dust/fungus...
after 3-4 days I removed it, but didnt change the water,, also got gravel
then after a week we went for vacation for 10 days and unplugged the aquarium filter.
we came back yesterday and plugged in the filter again and removed some water and added fresh water.. also bought a 100 watts heater
the tank seems a bit dirty.. now like little green residue..
the filter is working but the black sponge thing inside the tank isnt spinning anymore only the water from the filter tray is falling

I've successfully bred a pearlscale and a blackmoore when I was 12, and the fry got up to 5 months? I think... Then I got busy with my studies and forgot to take care of them...
I've made a monster out of breeding a molly and a swordtail, and later bred a fry with a guppy, they turned out good, but Hybridizing isn't my cup of tea..

Hi, I am setting up a 75 gallon bow front aquarium with a DIY background. I would like to include some type of crab in the tank. I have not chosen the type of fish I will stock in the aquarium yet, and was wondering is there is any type of freshwater crab that would co-exist with the fish I might put in the aquarium. Any suggestions on the type of crab and the type of fish I should stock the aquarium with?
Most of my fish died, and here are the possible reasons why (all of these things occurred in <4 days):
-silicone may have poisoned them (I put an aquarium background and the instructions said use silicone to attach it.)
-could have been deprived of oxygen (long story)
-could have caught a disease from my brother's frog feeder fish
-could have gotten sick due to an overdose of chlorine remover/fin repairer
Anyway, some of the fish are still alive, but I don't want the fish anymore, anyway. So how do I get rid of the remaining fish. I can't give them to anyone, because they could be poisoned. I can't kill them because then I'd feel guilty for killing fish that could be healthy. If it's any help, the ones that died were neon tetras, zebra danios, and tiger barbs. The ones that are currently alive are a rosy barb, a suckerfish, an albino cory, and one feeder minnow.
