I'm trying to downsize a bit since I'm moving and I also need some money. I have extra tanks and aquarium supplies so I thought I'd set up another tank and sell it, therefore getting money and getting rid of stuff, which is what I need to do right now. So, I have a 15 gallon tank, but it has no hood or canopy or whatever. I put in a brand new Fluval U1 filter, 50 watt heater, and an air pump. I also put rocks, two plants, and a castle ornament. The filter also has a new extra cartridge and I put a background on the tank. How much do you think I could sell that for? Also, I have a 10 gallon tank, do you think I should do the tank set-up in there to sell it, and then sell the 15 gallon by itself separately? Neither tank has a hood thing though. Please let me know what you think, about the prices and how I should sell it (15 gallon set up and 10 gallon separate, or vice versa, and what prices would be best for each). I need to get rid of stuff since I won't have as much space and some money would help so much with the moving. Thanks.

Here in a week I am getting two new hamsters. They are dwarf hamsters and I am using an aquarium so they cannot escape. I wanted to know if they would be more comfortable with a background.

I know this is long to read, but it would mean a great deal to me if you would read it and help me out, because I'm really scared for my fish.

Well, I installed an aquarium background in the tank the other day. When I was done, I filled it up with water and put the fish in. When I realized I hadn't put the chlorine remover in, I quickly grabbed the bottle and squirted in, like, half the bottle (I was freaking out). When I was done, I told my mom what happened and she told me she had ALREADY put in the chlorine remover before I started filling the tank up so I wouldn't have to put it in, but she didn't tell me this. So the tank got a LOT more chlorine remover than it needed.

Then, I guess because I was too busy worrying about the chlorine remover, I forgot to plug in the filter and didn't realize this until 2 days after I set up the tank. I put in a bubbler for a few hours and plugged the filter in to oxygenate the water. About 3 hours later I took out the bubbler, hoping the water was oxygenated enough to rely on only the filter for oxygenation.

Well, that was yesterday, and my fish are totally dying. Some of them seem fine (rosy barb, albino cory, suckerfish, a few zebra danios [not all], red eyed tetras, feeder minnows) but some of them are dead or dying right now (black tetra, most of the zebra danios, neon tetras, tiger barb).

Are they sick due to the chlorine remover overdose, the oxygen issue, or both? Would it be best to just freeze them and start over so they don't have to suffer? How can I prevent their death?
The filter is plugged in and has been for over 24 hours, and the bubbler and the filter were on for about 3-4 hours yesterday. I thought all this would be enough to re-oxygenate the tank.
I've had these fish fore 4 years, I clean their tank every other month, and I've never heard of "cycling" my tank, and the aquarist that owns the fish store that I go to told me how to maintain my tank and has never told me about cycling. I'm just going to assume oxygen was the issue.
:( I'll go find ways to kill my fish now, thanks for your help... I guess I'll try something new, like a gecko or a bearded dragon.
