Great aquarium fish - the Neon Tetra, (Paracheirodon innesi)

If you're looking for a bright, colourful and eye-catching community aquarium subject then the Neon Tetra certainly ticks all the boxes. A mainstay of the hobby for over 60 years these striking neon blue and red fish make an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced aquarist alike.
When first imported into the hobby they caused a sensation with their amazing colouration and attracted a hefty price tag as a result. In the wild they inhabit the soft, acidic ‘blackwater' streams and pools of the Amazon in Columbia, Peru and Brazil but most fish in the shops are now produced commercially on a huge scale in Singapore and Thailand. Many years of captive breeding means that these captive bred fish are acclimatised to more varied conditions than their wild ancestors making them hardy in a wider range of water chemistries
They do best in shoals of at least 5, but the more the merrier and the brighter the display! A good minimum tank size would be around 60 litres for a group of 10 to 15 neon tetra. Neon's prefer a gentle flow of water around the tank so be sure that filtration is not excessively powerful. These fish do best in stable water conditions so regular water changes using a dechlorinator are essential - a pH range of between 6 and 7.5 and a KH of 5 or less is a good starting point, while ammonia and nitrite should be zero and nitrate never more than 40mgl. The tank will need to be heated to around 24oC. Adult female neon tetras grow to around 3cm,(1.2"), with males slightly smaller and this relative small size should be taken into consideration when choosing what to house along side them as many larger fish will see them as a tasty snack. Ideal tank mates include Corydoras catfish, Ram cichlids,(Mikrogeophagus ramirezi) as well as other similarly sized South American tetra species such as glowlights,(Hemigrammus erythrozonus) or black neon's,(Hyphessobrycon herbertaxelrodi). They prefer subdued lighting and look at their best against a background of plants. Fed on a range of dried and frozen foods such as flake, granular foods and bloodworm they can live for over 5 years and can be bred in the aquarium.

Shoud I Use a Dressage Saddle?
At lower levels of dressage riding, a general purpose saddle adequately fulfills the needs of horse and rider. As you begin to ride more advanced dressage it may be useful to start using a quality dressage saddle which is designed to be of benefit to the rider whilst he is riding dressage movements. Whilst not compulsory until competing at advanced levels of dressage, it may be a worthwhile investment.

Tips on how to look for cat flaps and Royal Canin products online
Cat flaps and Royal Canin dog food are similar with each other. Before you even raise your eyebrows with this statement, you should read the explanation first. A cat flap is made to make sure that your cats are protected from the harshest condition (remember that it was created purposely to help your cat enter the home without much help from humans). The Royal Canin pet food, on the other hand, is made to protect your pet's health.
