Okay so ive had this baby turtle for about 2 weks now. And its in a 5 gallon tank(for now) with a filter, heater, uva/uvb light, basking spot, aquarium background, small plant....and large river rocks. And since its winter and i know they hibernate...im not so worried. But it never eats and never goes up to bask. Im not so concerned about the basking but how can i make it eat? HELP?

if you google 3d aquarium backgrounds it shows people making different backgrounds out of Styrofoam and cement. im just wondering, after it cures, will the rock i make as a basking area be ok to have a hot lamp beaming down on it . i dont want my turtle getting sick or breathing in some kind of chemicals from the heat. let me know what you think and what i should do if you dont think it is safe.. dont answer for the sake of answering... i want you to know what your talking about
your both retards.. well not so much the 2nd person.. i dont WANT a store bought basking area.. they're not personal enough.. all i want to know is will it be ok for my heat lamp.. thats it..i think it should be..
this is what im planning to mimic.. just with a waterfall above the tank on the left side so it trickles down to the water.. and the right is gonna be a flat rock looking thing above the tank for basking
